The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jawhar Jordan, the 240th pick, roughly 21 picks past where he belonged. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Jackson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kingsley Suamataia at pick 50 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A straight-up fair deal on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the 54th pick, value and slot in agreement. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Khyree Jackson at No. 97 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Braelon Allen in slot 160, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Andru Phillips at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Brennan Jackson at pick No. 171 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Trey Knox in Round 6, Pick 3 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They robbed the room for Jawhar Jordan here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
