Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Michael Barrett got past him. The Cardinals do not have to explain a thing at No. 225. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. With quarterback, running back and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Reaching for Jefferson left real value on the table behind him.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
