Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jacob Cowing got past him. The Cardinals do not have to explain a thing at No. 223. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

Reaching for Gore Jr. left real value on the table behind him. The Jaire Alexander deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
