Start where it matters. The Cardinals took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Sydnor pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Abrams-Draine falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the arm they will build around at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick No. 21 they get a sticky cover corner. Need was not the driver here.
Keon Coleman at Round 2, Pick 3 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They read the board right and Kiran Amegadjie was the payoff at pick 66. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Christian Mahogany at the 85th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
By-the-book stuff, Dominick Puni at No. 104 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reach for Cedric Johnson in slot 133; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Kris Abrams-Draine all the way to the 140th overall pick, and they scooped it up. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
They paid sticker price for Michael Barrett in Round 6, Pick 13, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A real head-scratcher, Khordae Sydnor in pick No. 225 is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They went early on Cody Schrader in the 227th overall pick, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
