The Cardinals lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.
So much rides on Drake Maye that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Robinson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. On value alone, Ulofoshio makes the weekend a net positive.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 4 they get their quarterback of the future. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the 8th pick they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In No. 27 they get a problem off the edge, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Legette. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Somehow T.J. Tampa was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 2, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Spencer Rattler at pick 90 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid up for Darius Robinson at the 104th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A tidy little value on Cam Hart in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Ben Sinnott in pick No. 148 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reach for Trevor Keegan in the 225th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jalen Green at slot 227 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
