The Raiders spent real capital to be 31 picks early on Beaux Limmer, and the board is going to hold them to it.
Getting McKinstry where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Kool-Aid McKinstry at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Fair-plus on Christian Haynes, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Beaux Limmer at the 113th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cam Hart at Round 5, Pick 11 is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Trey Knox at pick No. 190 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Jawhar Jordan in the 221st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Isaiah Williams at Round 7, Pick 11 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
