They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Cardinals' quarterback, full stop.
If Eboigbe pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Trotter Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get their quarterback of the future. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 25th pick they get a blindside protector at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Chris Braswell at the 35th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 57, where Jeremiah Trotter Jr. graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, Sedrick Van Pran at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 3, Pick 9 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Rod Moore at pick 81 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They did well to land Zak Zinter in No. 99, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Dominick Puni at pick No. 100 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Roman Wilson in Round 4, Pick 3 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Cade Stover in slot 118, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Khyree Jackson at the 133rd pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A reach on Mike Sainristil in the Round 5 slot; the board had better options right there. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
A straight-up fair deal on Braden Fiske at the 165th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They took Darius Robinson at par in No. 198, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Kamal Hadden in pick 224 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
A real head-scratcher, Justin Eboigbe in pick No. 227 is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
