Somebody in slot 122 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Tyler Nubin, the No. 40 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. If Lee pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.
