The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: D+.

The Bears torched the value chart for Javon Baker, taking him 63 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots still on the board.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
