Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The board sounded every alarm, and the F is the fallout.
The Goncalves pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 4 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
In slot 22 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Haynes at Round 2, Pick 18 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kris Jenkins in the 53rd pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board fumbled Matt Goncalves all the way to pick 161, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Jalyx Hunt at No. 171 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Erick All in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Myles Harden here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
