You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bears did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Bertrand falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Christian Wilkins leading the way.
