Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a B. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick89
Rnd3
Roman Wilson
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Roman Wilson. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick101
Rnd4
Tykee Smith
Nothing to complain about; Tykee Smith went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick110
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
They jumped the gun on Cedric Gray, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick125
Rnd4
Isaiah Adams
They did well to land Isaiah Adams in Round 4, Pick 25, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick126
Rnd4
Cam Hart
Cam Hart in pick No. 126 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick136
Rnd4
Shemar Turner
No edge and no loss on Shemar Turner in pick 136; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
