FutureB-
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a B to match. The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Reaching for Rice left real value on the table behind him. They banked enough surplus on Hicks to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick48
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at No. 48, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick75
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in the Round 3 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick96
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at pick No. 96 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick122
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher at the 122nd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
