The Bears won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 59 spots for Taulia Tagovailoa, and value like that does not grow back. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Rice.
Adding Nick Bosa by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
Bottom line, with Rome Odunze leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
