Williams is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bears did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Muhammad pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
