The 49ers let Gould fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Anthony Gould tumbling to the 49ers in No. 211 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Put together, it is a D-.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The 49ers indulged a want in Solomon while a need in quarterback and edge rusher stayed open. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
