The Steelers torched the value chart for DeMonte Capehart, taking him 56 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.

That McKinstry pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The Steelers indulged a want in Van Pran while a need in quarterback, edge rusher and other spots stayed open.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
