The 49ers put a flag in the ground for Khristian Boyd, 47 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Getting Johnson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
