Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the 49ers.

There is a lot to like until you notice wide receiver is still a hole. The 49ers never got to the one that mattered most.

If Taylor III pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Sainristil falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In pick 31 they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick63 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
Nice patience on Kiran Amegadjie, who had no business lasting to slot 63. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick94 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III at Round 3, Pick 31 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick98 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They robbed the room for Mike Sainristil here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick132 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick176 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
No drama and no debate, Jaylan Ford went about where he belonged in pick No. 176. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick209 Rnd6 Christian Jones
They paid sticker price for Christian Jones in the 209th overall pick, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick214 Rnd6 Jawhar Jordan
No edge and no loss on Jawhar Jordan in the 214th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick215 Rnd6 Braiden McGregor
A straight-up fair deal on Braiden McGregor at pick 215, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick249 Rnd7 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan in the 249th pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
