The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched Johnny Dixon slide 20 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Hit on Laiatu Latu and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 14 they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Xavier Worthy at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took T.J. Tampa at par in Round 2, Pick 21, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Theo Johnson in pick No. 120 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy little value on Kitan Oladapo in the 161st pick, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Nice patience on Tykee Smith, who had no business lasting to the 171st overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
You do not let a cornerback like Johnny Dixon reach No. 210 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
