Nobody else had Dontay Corleone anywhere near Round 7, Pick 42. The Bears did, by 64 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
