The rest of the league will want that one back. Marist Liufau tumbling to the Raiders in No. 113 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. If Zinter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a load in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Tyler Guyton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid a round early for Zak Zinter in the 77th overall pick, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Marist Liufau was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Cam Hart at No. 147 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Josh Proctor is a better player than the 210th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Tarheeb Still at pick 221 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Omar Speights at slot 225 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
A straight-up fair deal on Jalen Green at slot 227, value and slot in agreement. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
