You could see the war room lean forward. Jawhar Jordan at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kamari Lassiter in the 36th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Xavier Worthy at slot 59 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Roman Wilson went about where he belonged in the 85th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They let Marist Liufau come to them and pounced at Round 3, Pick 34. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Jalyx Hunt at pick 137 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A pick in search of a role on this roster.
Theo Johnson slid further than he should have, and No. 163 is lovely value for the tight end. A need, and now a little less of one.
They will replay Edefuan Ulofoshio at pick No. 178 for years; that is how good the value is. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
They barely believed it either: Jawhar Jordan still on the board at No. 239. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value with a capital V on BJ Mayes in the 243rd overall pick, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
