Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a D- for the Steelers. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Steelers took Jaylen Harrell at pick 120, roughly 99 spots before his name belonged.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the 4th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick21
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get an island corner at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick53
Rnd2
Roman Wilson
They reached a country mile for Roman Wilson at the 53rd pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jaylen Harrell
Jaylen Harrell at slot 120 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick121
Rnd4
Bucky Irving
They barely believed it either: Bucky Irving still on the board at No. 121. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick199
Rnd6
Omar Speights
Omar Speights at the Round 6 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick242
Rnd7
Zion Logue
Zion Logue in Round 7, Pick 22 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
