Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
The Packers let Hartman fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Sam Hartman, the No. 231 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In pick No. 25 they get a disruptor off the edge, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton at Round 2, Pick 9 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick57
Rnd2
Graham Barton
A tidy little value on Graham Barton in pick 57, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil slipping to slot 88 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick91
Rnd3
Bucky Irving
No edge and no loss on Bucky Irving in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick127
Rnd4
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at No. 127 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick168
Rnd5
Edefuan Ulofoshio
A quiet steal in the 168th overall pick: Edefuan Ulofoshio for less than the market said. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick203
Rnd6
Javon Baker
Javon Baker slid further than he should have, and the 203rd pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick216
Rnd6
Christian Jones
They read the board right and Christian Jones was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick243
Rnd7
Daequan Hardy
Daequan Hardy at slot 243 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick251
Rnd7
Sam Hartman
Circle this one: Sam Hartman at pick No. 251 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
