The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Reaching for Capehart left real value on the table behind him.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get the arm they will build around at fair value.
They paid sticker price for T'Vondre Sweat in the 62nd overall pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Johnny Wilson in pick No. 77 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Cam Hart in Round 4, Pick 21 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaylen Wright at the 150th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
LaDarius Henderson at the Round 5 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Christian Jones at pick 190 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Steele Chambers slid further than he should have, and slot 234 is lovely value for the linebacker. A minor itch, scratched.
They reached into another round for DeMonte Capehart, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
