The Jacobs value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Reaching for Spann-Ford left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
J.J. McCarthy at Round 2, Pick 9 is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Graham Barton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
By-the-book stuff, Max Melton at the 77th pick squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had cheaper options than Isaac Guerendo at pick 112, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Luke McCaffrey in the 148th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A conviction pick on Jaden Crumedy at No. 208 that the board grades a round light. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board fumbled Curtis Jacobs all the way to pick 223, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Brevyn Spann-Ford at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
