Thirty-one other rooms let Jaxson Dart slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at the 152nd pick. Highway robbery.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They robbed the room for Danny Stutsman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
Nic Anderson in Round 4, Pick 25 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They will replay Jaxson Dart at the 152nd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Brant Kuithe in pick 153 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Billy Bowman Jr. in pick No. 185. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They let Tristan Leigh come to them and pounced at the 202nd pick. It fills a real need, too.
The board had cheaper options than Jalon Daniels at No. 213, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
Kaidon Salter at slot 217 is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
