More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B- to prove it.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Eagles took Ben Sinnott at Round 3, Pick 34, roughly 41 spots before his name belonged.

Rosemy-Jacksaint falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They will answer for taking DT-EDGE early while safety, quarterback and other spots went begging.

They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.22 · Pick 22 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 19
Kool-Aid McKinstry in pick No. 22 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R2.23 · Pick 55 · Junior Colson · LB · rank 76
Value said wait; Junior Colson in the Round 2 slot says they were not listening. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.1 · Pick 65 · Maason Smith · DT-EDGE · rank 87
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Maason Smith at DT-EDGE with safety, quarterback and other spots open.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 138
A real head-scratcher, Ben Sinnott in Round 3, Pick 34 is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.1 · Pick 101 · Blake Fisher · OT · rank 99
Blake Fisher in slot 101 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Max Melton · CB · rank 111
Max Melton in pick 137 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.27 · Pick 163 · Braiden McGregor · DL-EDGE · rank 198
They talked themselves into Braiden McGregor at the 163rd overall pick, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 143
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in Round 5, Pick 36 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Gabe Hall · DL · rank 200
Gabe Hall at pick No. 178 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Caleb Murphy · C · rank 282
Caleb Murphy in slot 243 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
