Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Williams is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: B+.

The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Caleb Williams, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Robert Spillane pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. They are betting Limmer proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick13 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In the Round 1 slot they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in slot 44 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick75 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson at the 75th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick126 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd in No. 126 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick136 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer at Round 4, Pick 36 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick146 Rnd5 Keith Randolph Jr.
Keith Randolph Jr. at pick No. 146 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
