Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Edefuan Ulofoshio got past him. The Vikings do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Vikings paired the rookies with proven help, Justin Fields leading the way.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Byron Murphy II and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 19 they get a load in the middle at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
J.J. McCarthy slid further than he should have, and No. 37 is lovely value for the quarterback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A quiet steal in Round 3, Pick 32: Calen Bullock for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Trey Benson in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Nehemiah Pritchett at the 157th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Edefuan Ulofoshio in pick No. 257, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
