Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueC- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Bears did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The Tyler Warren selection is the head-turner. The Bears reached 45 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Stackhouse that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
This one needs a full-page explanation: Mykel Williams in the Round 1 slot, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
They jumped the gun on Tyler Booker, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick52 Rnd2 Parker Brailsford
Parker Brailsford at pick 52 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick84 Rnd3 Tyler Warren
They reached a country mile for Tyler Warren at slot 84, and the board is aghast. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick110 Rnd4 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse is a better player than the 110th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick116 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
A straight-up fair deal on Malachi Moore at the 116th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick148 Rnd5 Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy in the 148th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick180 Rnd6 Gentry Williams
A conviction pick on Gentry Williams at slot 180 that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick182 Rnd6 Jo'Quavious Marks
Jo'Quavious Marks in pick No. 182 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
