The Eagles spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Nehemiah Pritchett, the No. 142 name on the board, in the 169th pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Jackson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a lockdown presence outside, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
Troy Fautanu in the Round 2 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
No edge and no loss on Payton Wilson in the 65th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
By-the-book stuff, Audric Estime at the 97th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
They liked Beau Brade enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 101. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jaheim Bell at slot 137 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A reach on Brennan Jackson in pick No. 163; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nehemiah Pritchett at Round 5, Pick 33 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Javon Baker at the Round 5 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Ethan Driskell at pick 178 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They robbed the room for Daequan Hardy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
