New Era in Fort Collins: Jim Mora Inherits a Rebuilt Colorado State Roster for the Pac-12 Debut

Colorado State stumbled to 2-10 (1-7 in the Mountain West) in 2025, a season derailed by the midseason firing of Jay Norvell and a rash of injuries that gutted the roster. The defining story now is wholesale change. Jim L. Mora arrives from UConn as head coach, bringing a 73-53 career record over ten seasons and a reputation for turning programs around. He inherits more than 60 new players and a largely overhauled staff, and he inherits a new address on the map as well, with the Rams beginning play in the reconfigured Pac-12.

Mora has spoken openly about championships from the outset, and the win-now urgency is unmistakable. Whether a roster this new can mesh quickly and cohesively is the central unknown of the season.
