Scouting Report: Strengths
- Super athletic - Made Bruce Feldman's 2023 Freak's List at #56. He Wrote: "Williams, though, jumps well too, having hit 10-6 on the broad jump and posted a 40-inch vertical. In 2022, Williams made 29 receptions for 392 yards and four touchdowns. The former high school quarterback has incredible arm strength. He can throw it farther than all the TCU QBs. “He threw it about 20 yards further — it was like every bit of 80 yards,”"
- A fluid mover capable of creating some separation over the middle of the field, Williams has the long arms and soft hands to provide a sizable catch radius.
- Williams blends good size and speed, as well as the competitive demeanor of a playmaker.
- He’s a coordinated hands catcher who does a nice job digging out low throws. He’s very good with the ball in his hands, a violent runner after the catch, and often able to fend off defenders with a straight arm.
- He’s a precise route runner, creating separation when used on quick outs and stop patterns in college. He has good stop-start ability and lateral agility.
- He accelerates 0-to-60 and hits top speed fast enough to outrun angles. He’s also flexible and agile, able to keep the pedal to the floor as he turns and weaves.
- Has good body strength to squirm out of tackles with the coordination to maneuver his frame between defenders.
- Williams is a natural playmaker, at his best with the ball in his hands.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Williams seems comfortable in traffic to the point where Williams doesn’t make the effort to create separation.
- Williams has constantly ran a limited route tree.
- A straight-line athlete with only average speed, lacking the wheels to run away from anyone at the next level. Struggles separating in tight coverage.
