Draft Profile: Bio
Jacolby George burst onto the scene as a junior for Miami in 2023, notching 864 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. The Plantation, Florida native earned Third-Team All-ACC honors, showcasing his playmaking ability with a three-score game against Texas A&M and a 153-yard outing at Florida State.

George's path to college football began at Plantation High School, where he racked up 1,030 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior. His explosive play caught the eye of major programs, landing him a four-star rating from ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports. George chose Miami over offers from Penn State, Georgia Tech, and others.

After a quiet freshman year and an injury-plagued sophomore campaign, George exploded as a junior. Starting 12 games, he averaged 15.1 yards per catch and established himself as one of the ACC's top receivers. His 85-yard touchdown against Florida State highlighted his big-play potential.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Exhibits excellent snap off the line with sudden acceleration, creating instant cushion against press coverage
  • Fluid hip sink and crisp footwork at the stem, showcasing advanced route-running chops to separate at all three levels
  • Natural hands catcher who plucks the ball away from his frame, displaying soft mitts in traffic situations
  • Dangerous YAC threat with stop-start quickness and wiggle in the open field, turning bubble screens into chunk plays
  • Tracks the deep ball well, demonstrating body control to adjust and high-point 50/50 balls downfield
  • Alignment versatility to line up outside or in the slot, giving OCs flexibility in personnel packages
  • Special teams upside as a punt returner, averaged 14.2 yards per return in 2022 showing field vision and elusiveness
  • Above-average straight-line speed with a 4.44 40-time (73rd percentile), enough juice to threaten vertically
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Undersized frame (6'0", 176 lbs) raises red flags about ability to defeat NFL press and hold up physically over a full season
  • Lacks ideal play strength, often overwhelmed as a perimeter blocker and struggles to stack corners in the run game
  • Concentration drops (six in 2023) are a concern, needs to improve consistency securing the ball through contact
  • Limited catch radius due to average length, may struggle to expand strike zone against tight coverage at next level
  • Run blocking is a glaring weakness, doesn't display the want-to or anchor to sustain blocks and spring big runs
Scouting Report: Summary
George currently looks like a late-round selection with potential to contribute in a spread offense emphasizing quick-hitting passes. His quickness off the line and ability to create separation on short and intermediate routes align well with West Coast or Air Raid concepts. His experience as a punt returner adds special teams value, potentially allowing him to contribute immediately while developing as a receiver.

To succeed at the next level, George must refine his route-running, improve his catching consistency, and add functional strength. His college production and athletic testing suggest upside, but his slight frame and blocking deficiencies could limit his early impact. In the right system, George has the tools to develop into a productive slot receiver and return specialist.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
