Scouting Report: Strengths
- He’s a technician in press coverage, with a strong punch and the ability to reroute receivers.
- Flashes good ball skills. Anthony has the fluidity and change-of-direction ability to mirror quicker receivers underneath.
- Willing in run support, coming downhill quickly when Anthony has a chance to make a play.
- Can get up under a receiver’s chin and has the speed to flip his hips and run downfield. He has the quick and surprisingly powerful hands to jostle receivers early. But he’s at his best peeking into the backfield.
- He’s long and strong enough in his core to steer receivers to the sideline without getting grabby with his hands when playing inside technique.
- Effective out of the slot, showing the instincts and quickness to mirror when the receiver has a two-way go. Anthony has good instincts and awareness when playing off, showing good route recognition and anticipation when breaking on the ball.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Rght now he’s only capable of playing in trail position, and even then he’d likely be draw a lot of flags.
- Tends to play conservatively and give too much cushion when playing off.
- Anthony plays high and tends to struggle with change of direction, and Anthony also shows some stiffness when he has to flip his hips.
