Scouting Report: Strengths
- Quick out of his stance with the footwork to be effective in front of screens. Willing to get out in front of ballcarriers to take out defensive backs and linebackers.
- Above-average football smarts and general intelligence. Plays with a nasty streak. Solid character and work ethic.
- He’s a coordinated athlete who can win at the point of attack in the run game, and Galvin can also move to consistently land blocks at the second level.
- Is effective when asked to pull, showing the agility, speed, and overall range to get out as a lead blocker, where he locates defenders and shows the ability to adjust and land blocks against linebackers.
- Shows a good feel for combo blocks, and he displays good quickness and flexibility when moving to the second level, capable of sealing the back side on reach blocks
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Has a bad habit of panicking on reach blocks, lunging, and grabbing rather than trusting his athleticism to get him in position, which could lead to frequent flags for holding.
- Has enough power in the run game, but at times Galvin seems to lack a mean streak.
- Had issues against quality counter moves, struggling to readjust. That’s something he’ll see frequently against NFL technicians in the pass rush.
- Sloppy with his hand placement, failing to take full advantage of his natural length and power.
