Draft Profile: Bio
A California native, Beaux Collins originally made his mark at Clemson before transferring to Notre Dame for his final collegiate season. The 6'3", 202-pound wideout accumulated 91 receptions for 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns over three years with the Tigers. Collins broke out late in his true freshman campaign, joining an elite group of Clemson freshmen to post at least 30 receptions and 400 receiving yards in their debut season.

Collins' journey began at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California, where he was a highly touted four-star recruit. He opted not to play his senior season due to the COVID-19 pandemic but still garnered national attention. As a junior, Collins showcased his big-play ability, racking up 1,008 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 41 receptions, averaging an impressive 24.6 yards per catch.

At Clemson, Collins steadily improved his production each season. He capped off his Tigers career with a solid 2023 campaign, setting career highs with 38 receptions for 510 yards and adding three touchdowns. His most notable performance came against Charleston Southern, where he hauled in seven catches for 137 yards and a 69-yard score, Clemson's longest pass play since 2020.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Prototypical X-receiver frame with plus length and catch radius
  • Vertical threat who can take the top off defenses and win jump balls
  • Adept at finding soft spots in zone coverage on intermediate routes
  • Demonstrates home run ability with chunk plays after the catch
  • Ascending talent with year-over-year production improvements
  • Positional flexibility to align outside or in the slot
  • Battle-tested against elite competition in the ACC
  • High character prospect with academic accolades
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Lacks ideal long speed to consistently separate from NFL corners
  • Concentration drops and body catches plague his game
  • Struggles to sustain blocks and can be a liability in the run game
  • Medical red flags with history of shoulder and foot injuries
  • Raw production doesn't match physical tools
Scouting Report: Summary
Collins brings an intriguing skill set to the table as a big-bodied perimeter target. His ability to high-point the football and win in contested catch situations will appeal to teams looking for a reliable chain-mover and red-zone threat. The Notre Dame product flashes potential as a vertical stretch player, despite lacking elite timed speed.

Questions remain about Collins' ability to create consistent separation at the next level. His route tree will need refinement, and he must improve his catch technique to maximize his natural gifts. Durability concerns and inconsistent blocking effort could see him slide down some draft boards.

Ultimately, Collins profiles as a developmental outside receiver with WR2 upside in the right system. His frame and flashes of playmaking ability will intrigue teams, but he'll need to sharpen his overall game to carve out a significant role at the next level.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
