Which Team Will Pick Drake London in 2022 NFL Draft?

Prediction for where Drake London will fall in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The countdown to the 2022 NFL Draft is almost complete, but I have one more player I want to do a deep dive on.

That player is former USC star receiver Drake London. Many talent evaluators believe London is the most complete wide receiver prospect in the NFL Draft, and I have to agree. But, London isn’t getting the universal love I think he deserves.

According to the current NFL Draft odds at WynnBET Sportsbook, London is the third WR expected to be drafted at +220 odds. Ohio State's Garrett Wilson is -225 and Alabama's Jameson Williams is +175. All three of these guys are beasts in their own right. But, I still think London will be better in the long run.

My favorite part of London’s game is his size. As former Utah Jazz coach, Frank Layden put it, “You can’t teach height.”

He's not wrong.

London has fantastic body control for his size at 6'5". He can leverage that body to wrestle balls away from defensive backs or just jump over them. He is also a strong route runner who routinely snags balls in heavy traffic.

The big knocks against London are his speed and a fractured ankle that cost him the end of the 2021 season. He chose not to run at the combine as he felt his game film spoke to his speed. He even said that he doesn’t have to, “blow by guys to catch a ball,” due to his size. “I can at the end of the day, but I don’t really have to.”

I love this from him. He knows his skills and doesn’t feel the need to suit up and run around a grass-infield to prove it. He also knows that he can rely on his size to win matchups. This is something that can’t be quantified at the combine.

So where does London end up tonight?

Hard to say, but I think the Green Bay Packers would be a great fit. Aaron Rodgers needs some serious help in the receiving game and London is an out-of-the-box WR1. Green Bay lost Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling during the offseason; two of the top three receivers from last year. This leaves a rag-tag group left with Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Sammy Watkins to figure it out.

Ultimately, the Packers want to waste another year of Rodgers’ arm and make an effort to draft London. His size is perfect for a QB with Rodgers’ skillset and I think would fit in perfectly with the Packers.
