FutureF
The Seahawks jumped the board for Norfleet and paid for it: F. The Brett Norfleet pick is the one that will follow the Seahawks into the fall. They took him 38 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In Round 1, Pick 5 they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick10
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In slot 10 they get a featured back at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick27
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
Good price on Carnell Tate in the Round 1 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick32
Rnd1
Jake Slaughter
By-the-book stuff, Jake Slaughter at pick 32 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick36
Rnd2
Nyck Harbor
They reached into another round for Nyck Harbor, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick44
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
They will replay Kenyon Sadiq at No. 44 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick59
Rnd2
Antonio Williams
Antonio Williams at the Round 2 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cade Klubnik
Circle this one: Cade Klubnik at pick No. 105 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick219
Rnd7
Brett Norfleet
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Brett Norfleet. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick226
Rnd7
Amare Campbell
The board had cheaper options than Amare Campbell at Round 7, Pick 12, and it noticed. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
