Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureF
The Seahawks finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jaxson Dart is the Seahawks' quarterback, full stop. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Dart pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In slot 2 they get an island corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick3
Rnd1
Will Campbell
By-the-book stuff, Will Campbell at the Round 1 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick4
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the 4th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick10
Rnd1
Jaxson Dart
In pick 10 they get the face of the franchise, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick17
Rnd1
Grey Zabel
In the 17th overall pick they get a blindside protector, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick18
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick30
Rnd1
Luther Burden III
In No. 30 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick31
Rnd1
Jayden Higgins
In pick No. 31 they get a true top target, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick49
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland in the 49th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick56
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in Round 2, Pick 24 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick62
Rnd2
Carson Schwesinger
A premium they did not need to pay, Carson Schwesinger a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick66
Rnd3
Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at pick No. 66 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick129
Rnd4
Charles Grant
Somehow Charles Grant was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick136
Rnd4
Dillon Gabriel
Dillon Gabriel at No. 136 is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jalen Rivers
They read the board right and Jalen Rivers was the payoff at the 172nd overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick176
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at pick 176 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick183
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
No drama and no debate, JJ Pegues went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 7. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick203
Rnd6
Upton Stout
Upton Stout slid further than he should have, and the 203rd pick is lovely value for the safety. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick210
Rnd6
Isaac TeSlaa
This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaac TeSlaa in the 210th overall pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
