A franchise passer in Ward headlines a B weekend for the Titans. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Titans spent their marquee pick on Cam Ward, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
The cost of the Diggs reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.
Getting Royals where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In the 1st overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
By-the-book stuff, Jayden Higgins at the 54th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick81
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
The board had Jalen Royals higher than the Round 3 slot, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick103
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at Round 4, Pick 1 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick120
Rnd4
Oluwafemi Oladejo
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Oluwafemi Oladejo. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick122
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 122, where Smael Mondon Jr. graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick124
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
A wild overpay on Emery Jones Jr. in No. 124, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick141
Rnd5
Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams slipping to pick 141 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick167
Rnd5
Vernon Broughton
A big swing on Vernon Broughton at the 167th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick178
Rnd6
Chase Lundt
Chase Lundt at Round 6, Pick 2 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed at the 188th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick198
Rnd6
Fadil Diggs
Fadil Diggs at pick No. 198 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
