Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
D+
ValueB
NeedB
TradesF
FutureA+
The Titans left with their quarterback, and a D+ to match. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Titans, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.
The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Baron reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Henderson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In pick 8 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
A slide stopped in No. 35, with Nick Emmanwori worth more than the price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick37
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luther Burden III at pick No. 37 is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick57
Rnd2
Josaiah Stewart
A tidy little value on Josaiah Stewart in Round 2, Pick 25, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick58
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
No drama and no debate, Donovan Jackson went about where he belonged in the 58th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick74
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
They barely believed it either: Harold Fannin Jr. still on the board at the 74th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick78
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
A top-tier running back at a bargain, TreVeyon Henderson in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick108
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson in slot 108 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick120
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
Nice patience on Smael Mondon Jr., who had no business lasting to pick 120. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick141
Rnd5
Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron in slot 141 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick166
Rnd5
Chase Lundt
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Chase Lundt. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick167
Rnd5
Quincy Riley
They paid a round early for Quincy Riley in No. 167, more than the board wanted. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick178
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
They paid sticker price for JJ Pegues in Round 6, Pick 2, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed at the 188th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
