Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureD-
The Seahawks robbed the room for Hampton. Final grade: F. The phones were a trap the Seahawks kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A F, plain and simple.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Thornton Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Hampton steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary. More want than need.
Pick31
Rnd1
Josh Conerly Jr.
In No. 31 they get a building block for the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
They barely believed it either: Omarion Hampton still on the board at the 50th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick63
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at slot 63 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger in the 66th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92
Rnd3
Savion Williams
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Savion Williams. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick95
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 95 with a little surplus value in Gunnar Helm. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick137
Rnd4
Dillon Gabriel
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dillon Gabriel in the Round 4 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick172
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 172nd overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jalen Rivers
Jalen Rivers slipping to Round 5, Pick 37 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick223
Rnd7
Maxen Hook
Maxen Hook slid further than he should have, and the 223rd pick is lovely value for the safety. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick234
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
No drama and no debate, Isaac TeSlaa went about where he belonged in pick 234. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
