Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureF
The Seahawks turned the phones into found money: B-. The Seahawks put a flag in the ground for Jackson Hawes, 38 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. However the rest shakes out, Warren at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick7
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
They paid sticker price for Tetairoa McMillan in the 7th overall pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick10
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at pick No. 10 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick12
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
In No. 12 they get a weapon on the perimeter, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick18
Rnd1
Grey Zabel
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick24
Rnd1
Tyler Booker
In the 24th pick they get a long-term starter on the line, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in slot 33 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
They barely believed it either: Tyler Warren still on the board at the Round 2 slot. It fills a real need, too.
Pick41
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at No. 41 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick52
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
By-the-book stuff, Donovan Ezeiruaku at Round 2, Pick 20 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick66
Rnd3
Mason Taylor
A conviction pick on Mason Taylor at the 66th overall pick that the board grades a round light. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick82
Rnd3
Tre Harris
Tre Harris in the 82nd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick137
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
A reach for Emery Jones Jr. in pick 137; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick172
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
The board had cheaper options than JJ Pegues at pick No. 172, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick175
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They liked Dont'e Thornton Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 175. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jackson Hawes
A wild overpay on Jackson Hawes in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
