Neal should have been long gone. The Falcons pounced, and earned a B-.

Somebody in pick 118 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Falcons sat still while Devin Neal, the No. 81 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The cost of the Stewart reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Josaiah Stewart
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge, though the board says they badly overpaid. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46 Rnd2 Matthew Golden
Taking Matthew Golden in Round 2, Pick 14 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick118 Rnd4 Devin Neal
They barely believed it either: Devin Neal still on the board at pick 118. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick218 Rnd7 R.J. Mickens
R.J. Mickens at pick No. 218 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick242 Rnd7 Cam Horsley
Cam Horsley at No. 242 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
