2024 DRAFTING FOR THEBuccaneers

Draft Grade — Buccaneers

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers put a flag in the ground for Kalil Alexander, 28 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. However the rest shakes out, Johnson at that price is a win they earned. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Derrick Moore
In the 22nd pick they get juice off the edge, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Joshua Josephs
Joshua Josephs in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick86
Rnd3
D'Angelo Ponds
No edge and no loss on D'Angelo Ponds in pick No. 86; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick122
Rnd4
Kalil Alexander
Kalil Alexander in Round 4, Pick 20 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick161
Rnd5
Taylen Green
A tidy bit of business in slot 161, where Taylen Green graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick200
Rnd6
Brett Norfleet
Brett Norfleet in the 200th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick235
Rnd7
Marquis Johnson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Marquis Johnson in the 235th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
