Draft Grade — Browns
Overall A
ValueA NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA
Mendoza is the plan now, and the Browns grade out a A.

The Browns did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Romello Height fell into the 248th pick. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A.

So much rides on Fernando Mendoza that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

Adding Justin Jefferson by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Fernando Mendoza and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Fernando Mendoza in pick 18. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick24 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Carnell Tate
Carnell Tate at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick70 Rnd3 Makai Lemon
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 70 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick107 Rnd4 Mansoor Delane
They will replay Mansoor Delane at pick 107 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick139 Rnd5 Chase Bisontis
Somehow Chase Bisontis was still sitting there in the 139th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick144 Rnd5 J.C. Davis
Steal is underselling it; J.C. Davis at Round 5, Pick 6 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick147 Rnd5 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in slot 147 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick204 Rnd6 Jordyn Tyson
Circle this one: Jordyn Tyson at the 204th pick is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick248 Rnd7 Romello Height
They robbed the room for Romello Height here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
