The steal of the weekend belongs to the Vikings and Miller: B.

Somebody in Round 4, Pick 16 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Vikings sat still while Christen Miller, the No. 40 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Siereveld reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Anthony Hill Jr.
In pick 18 they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick50 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
They will replay Dillon Thieneman at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick82 Rnd3 Joe Royer
Steal is underselling it; Joe Royer at the 82nd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick97 Rnd3 Iapani Laloulu
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Iapani Laloulu in slot 97, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick118 Rnd4 Christen Miller
Christen Miller in the 118th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick157 Rnd5 Jermaine Mathews Jr.
A tidy bit of business in Round 5, Pick 19, where Jermaine Mathews Jr. graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick173 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Taking Kage Casey in pick No. 173 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick196 Rnd6 Kayin Lee
No drama and no debate, Kayin Lee went about where he belonged in No. 196. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick208 Rnd6 Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels at the 208th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick231 Rnd7 Austin Siereveld
A reach on Austin Siereveld in pick No. 231; the board had better options right there. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
